Morning by Morning, October 31, 2024 - Both “Mighty God” and Greatest “Friend” Good morning, Lord Jesus. “Mighty God” and my Greatest “Friend,” I look to You and I begin my day embraced by my Father, centered in Christ, and filled with Your Holy Spirit. ... “And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). “No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you” (John 15:15). By the power of Your grace and in the mystery of faith, You are both my “Mighty God” and my Greatest “Friend.” I don’t deserve it; I couldn’t earn it; but it’s true, nonetheless--for me and for all who are called by Your name, who have You in our hearts through the salvation of our souls. I am a “friend” of God, a “friend” of the “Mighty God.” May I never take that for granted. May I live out my days of my deeply personal relationship with You in the both the inseparable intimacy of the Lord (Romans 8:38-39) and the reverential fear of the Lord (Acts 9:31). In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
